Who is CrossFit Modig?

With the number of CrossFit boxes growing expontentially, why CrossFit Modig?

crossfit-modig-leesunheephotography-1729The growing popularity of CrossFit means there are a number of boxes to choose from. Why CrossFit Modig? How are we different or how do we strive to make your experience in our box the best it can be?

We feel that experience among our coaches is paramount to the success of our members. The team at CrossFit Modig is not only highly experienced, but many have been coaching CrossFit since 2008. The Coaches at CrossFit Modig are continually looking to improve their skills and have multiple certifications that include, among others, CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Weighlifting, Movement & Mobility, CrossFit Kids, etc. We feel that diversity in skill sets, certifications and coaching style provides our members with a well rounded team.

CrossFit Modig provides strategically programmed workouts that are unique and will challenge you in a multitude of ways. We accomplish this by utilizing different time domains, fitness modalities (cardio, weightlifting, gymnastics, etc.) and functional movements. Our primary goal is to help each member accomplish their fitness goals in a safe and fun environment. Each workout is viewed as part of a larger picture, so you will find that throughout the week you are experiencing a well rounded exercise routine.

Functional movements are an integral part of CrossFit. These movements are simply those that are ingrained in our daily lives. Squatting down to pick up a young child or lifting your bike onto a rack above your car are using the same basic CrossFit movements. Strength is not measured strictly by how much weight you can squat. Rather it is the ability to run 400 meters, front squat #185 ten times and then perform 15 pull ups…and do it all 5 times. In CrossFit, we simply combine the effort of multiple muscle groups with an emphasis on moving the right way, rather than isolating workouts to specific muscle groups. Gone are the days of bis and tris on Wednesdays, legs and back on Fridays.

The high intensity component is where the magic happens. During the WOD (Workout of the Day) element of a CrossFit class, not only are we doing movements to build strength, but moving quickly from one exercise to the next with little to no rest in between. We combine strength building with improvement of our cardiovascular and muscular endurance. It’s a whole new ball game and, as a result, we’ve seen countless people walk through the doors of CrossFit Modig and get in the best shape of their lives. Many of them in their late 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and even 60’s!
